In recognition of their service and experience, student volunteers can earn 4 ECTS credits to count one time as academic credit toward studies. This now also applies for services at the volunteer fire department – before only emergency medical service volunteers received academic credit for their work. Over 100 newly enrolled JKU students took advantage of the opportunity to receive credit for their volunteer services.
