Adriana Estrada Presented with the 2022 ZONTA Award

The chemist is the recipient of the 9th annual ZONTA Award. An award ceremony will take place in October.

Estrada is a PhD candidate at the Institute for Polymer Chemistry, studying the photonic structures of chameleon skin to detect wound healing processes. The project is being conducted in close cooperation with the Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology.

Presented by the ZONTA Club Linz together with the Johannes Kepler University Linz, the award serves to support engaged and committed students enrolled in academic degree programs in technology, engineering, or natural sciences. The award is accompanied with € 2,500 in prize money.

About Adriana Estrada

Born and raised in Guatemala, Adriana Estrada discovered her interest in natural sciences at an early age. Before coming to the JKU, she studied chemical engineering at the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering at the Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology (STUST) in Mandarin, and also spent time at the University of Tokushima in Japan to strengthen her expertise in the field of nanotechnology.
