The Main Campus Library Linz supports the open access publication portal SciPost.

As the first worldwide consortium, ten Austrian research centers and the Austrian Science Fund (FWF) support the SciPost, opens an external URL in a new window publication portal, a platform for open access publications in the field of physics.

SciPost funding is based on an international shared-cost model in which leading research institutions around the world contribute to funding; This secures funding for SciPost Physics, opens an external URL in a new window, SciPost Physics Proceedings, opens an external URL in a new window and SciPost Physics Lecture Notes, opens an external URL in a new window publications which cover all content areas in the field of physics.

Managed by renowned researchers, SciPost has already published a number of important articles, including some from Austria; SciPost is free for readers and authors. The pre-print server arxiv.org, opens an external URL in a new window is used for the submissions process and reviews are conducted via open-peer review.

Austrian institutions have come together to form the SciPost consortium designed expressly to support a non-commercial way for the scientific community to publish high-quality, open access articles.
