What You Need to Know About Getting a Library Card

Those not associated or affiliated with the university (age 18+) may also check out books at the Main Campus Library. Please register online.
If you are under the age of 18, the application must also be signed by a parent / legal guardian in the space provided.

Once we have processed your completed application form, you will receive an e-mail stating when you can pick your library card up at the Circulation Desk. Once you have your card, you can check out books and materials.

There is fee of € 10 to issue a library card. If you lose the card, a duplicate will cost € 10.

When registering, please bring a valid photo ID with you.

The loan period at the Main Campus Library is 1 month.

"General Library Users" (those not affiliated with the university) may borrow a maximum of 20 books at a time at the Main Campus Library.

  • You can access most of the JKU's electronic media from campus using any of the publicly accessible PCs in the Main Campus Library.
  • You can also access the library using your personal laptop: Simply connect to the JKU via WiFi (JKU only, not eduroam!)
  • Log in using your library account.
  • Remote login (from home) is not permitted under any circumstances.
