Here at LIFT_C, we believe our responsibility lies in generating momentum to initiate and drive change forward. In addition to conducting research and teaching, our activities involves organizing inspiring presentations, stimulating conferences, engaging discussions, interesting commentaries, and media contributions as well as multi-stakeholder formats.

In an effort to resolve complex inssues, addressing the challenges of our modern society calls for innovative approaches and cross-disciplinary collaboration. The UpdateSocial initiative exemplifies these values by harnessing collective expertise and many peoples' ideas as part of the Open Social Innovation (OSI) method designed to advance effective solutions and address social challenges. In close cooperation with the JKU, Volkshilfe Oberösterreich, the Ludwig Boltzmann Gesellschaft (LBG), and the state of Upper Austria, in 2023 UpdateSocial demonstrated how we can stimulate social innovation in Upper Austria. During times of change, key initiatives, such as the “2023 Austrian Citizen Science Conference, opens in new window” and the "OIS zam: 2023 Forum, opens an external URL in a new window" are crucial to support transformative collaboration efforts and create more understanding.These activities at the JKU - ranging from inspiring keynote speeches to interactive workshops - have created platforms to share information and connect with participant across different subject areas and collectively drive transformative change forward.
