Under the theme "ver.suchen - ver.einen - ver.antworten", the 2023 Austrian Citizen Science Conference took place at the JKU between April 19 - 21, 2023. Together with the "Österreich forscht" network (BOKU Vienna) and in cooperation with Ars Electronica and the Ludwig Boltzmann Gesellschaft, the annual conference took place in Linz in 2023 in an effort to boost public participation in the research process at the university itself, in Upper Austria, and within the network, making it more highly visible.

Initiated by Österreich forscht, opens an external URL in a new window, different institutions host the annual Citizen Science Conference, which has become Austria's largest Citizen Science event.
