Responsible Technology
"Responsible Technology" best summarizes the LIT's visionary approach to technology as research conducted here encompasses a holistic approach. It's not just about technical innovation, but also about scientifically debating the social, economic, health and legal impact as well as the effects, outcomes, and consequences. This requires both core skills and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Structure
Created as an interdisciplinary institute and as part of a matrix structure, the LIT is a professional setting designed to provide researchers from different engineering institutes and faculties a unique opportunity to work together. High quality, interdisciplinary research is conducted in various fields of engineering and technology and "calls for proposals" help to provide funding to stimulate cutting-edge research. The LIT's value system is defined by excellence and performance-based financing.
