Created as an interdisciplinary institute and as part of a matrix structure, the LIT is a professional setting designed to provide researchers from different engineering institutes and faculties a unique opportunity to work together. High quality, interdisciplinary research is conducted in various fields of engineering and technology and "calls for proposals" help to provide funding to stimulate cutting-edge research. The LIT gives student a unique opportunity to study with and alongside some of Austria's best researchers, focusing on topics of the future that include Artificial Intelligence, Cyber-Physical Systems, the Circular Economy, and Digital Transformation.

Research

In addition to project-oriented funding via LIT Calls, the planned "LIT Research Lab" will be a permanent research center located at the Linz Institute of Technology and will focus on selected topics.
