Deep Learning

We are seeking highly motivated and talented individuals to join our dynamic research team as a PhD/PostDoc researcher in Machine Learning at the LIT AI Lab and the Institute for Machine Learning.

Available Positions

Research Topics

  • Advanced sequence modeling (xLSTM)
  • Natural language processing (NLP)
  • Machine learning robustness (distribution shift, out-of-distribution detection)
  • Learning theory (density ratio estimation, divergence estimation)

Job Description

  • Independently conduct research in deep learning and its applications.
  • Collaborate on machine learning and deep learning projects.
  • Publish in renowned international journals and conferences.
  • Supervise students; prepare and hold lectures in an AI degree program.
  • Engage in educational activities within the Artificial Intelligence curriculum.

Requirements

PhD Candidate Position (ML-PhD)

  • MSc or equivalent in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • University-level coursework in:
    • Machine Learning
    • Deep Learning
    • Computer Science
    • Mathematics

PostDoc Position (ML-PD)

  • PhD (or equivalent degree) in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a closely related field.
  • Strong publication record in a minimum of two of the following areas:
    • Machine Learning
    • Deep Learning
    • Mathematics
    • Signal Processing
    • Computer Vision
    • Speech Processing
    • Natural Language Processing

Additional Requirements

  • Strong background in machine learning, deep learning, and statistical inference.
  • Experience with ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras).
  • Proficiency in Python.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team player with a willingness to support students and junior researchers.
