Results from the UpdateDeutschland Research Show Societal Transformation Potential.
UpdateDeutschland, the follow-up project of #WirVsVirus, was initiated in 2021 by ProjectTogether and supported by the German Federal Chancellory. UpdateDeutschland is based on the Open Social Innovation method and relies on the broad participation of individuals and institutions from different societal sectors to address pressing challenges.
As part of the joint accompanying research by Thomas Gegenhuber (Johannes Kepler University Linz and Leuphana University) and Johanna Mair (Hertie School Berlin), the Learning Report, opens an external URL in a new window has now been published. The goal of the report is to "equip all interested parties with concepts, language, and insights to better understand and jointly develop Open Social Innovation.”
On Monday, January 31, 2022, representatives from politics, the social entrepreneurship sector, citizens, and initiatives met to discuss the results. The event was broadcast live on YouTube, opens an external URL in a new window. Wolfgang Schmidt, head of the new Federal Chancellery, sent a video greeting: "I am therefore very pleased that the results of the accompanying research are now available [...]. I am convinced that we can benefit immensely from this abundance of ideas as a community, as a society, and also as a state." To conclude the event, Parliamentary Secretary Thomas Sattelberger also discussed the relevance of Open Social Innovation for the German government's transformation agenda.
