EU Network for Culture and Creative Industries
Together with 50 partners from 20 countries, the Johannes Kepler University is a lead partner in the successful consortium.
Over 50 leading institutions and partners in science, the community, industry, and the business community have joined forces to form the new and ninth European knowledge and innovation community, the "EIT Culture & Creativity". Four organizations in Austria are involved: the Johannes Kepler University Linz, Kreativwirtschaft Austria, Impact Hub Network, and Ars Electronica. There will be six co-location centers in the network with the location center for southeast Europe and the Alpine region in Vienna.
"EIT Culture & Creativity" is a Knowledge & Innovation Community (KIC) under the umbrella organization European Institute of Innovation & Technlogy (EIT). The EIT has established a total of nine Knowledge & Innovation Communities, each with different thematic focus, in an effort to better pool innovative strengths and capacities in Europe. Extending all across Europe, the KICs foster partnerships between companies, research centers, universities, and their partner networks. Activities range from educational measures and funding to support innovative projects, to services and sector support.
