In July, Univ. Prof. Gerd Bramerdorfer (Institute for Electrical Drives and Power Electronics) and Univ. Prof. Johannes Reichl (LIT Future Energy Lab) took part in an energy research trip to Trentino and South Tyrol (Italy). Organized by the Energy Institute of the JKU and Energie AG of Upper Austria - and together with Markus Achleitner (State Councilor for Economic Affairs and Energy in Upper Austria) and Leonhard Schitter (CEO of Energie AG in Upper Austria) - the delegation learned more first-hand about a number of research and innovation initiatives in the field of hydrogen and energy storage.

The delegation visited the Fondazione Bruno Kessler - FBK, GES - Green Energy Storage and SolydEra Italia in Trento as well as Eurac Research, NOI Techpark and IIT Hydrogen in Bolzano. The JKU delegation members remarked, “We can apply much of what we saw and experienced in Italy to our research and teaching at the JKU.
