Creative Region

The project aims to raise the profile of cultural and creative sectors in Upper Austria and South Bohemia, as well as improve sustainable partnerships. All of the activities are designed to address the cultural and creative sectors' specific needs, educate stakeholders by offering targeted workshops, and share expertise across borders. Long-term networking among creative participants and organizations in the field of tourism and cultural activities is a key added value.

The project's outcome will be a cross-border, jointly formulated strategy to support creative industries, to then be jointly realized in Upper Austria and South Bohemia once the project is completed. The strategy will be presented to policymakers in both regions in an effort to contribute to long-term regional development and urban concepts.

As part of the project, a survey was conducted to determine in which areas cross-border collaborations are desired and which training opportunities and topics spark the interest of actors in the creative industries, students, entrepreneurs, and aspiring founders.

Additionally, a communication platform for creatives was established—a space for networking, as well as for accessing news about events, job opportunities, and much more.

The Innovation Hub provides students, researchers, creative individuals, entrepreneurs, and interested parties from Upper Austria and the Czech Republic with opportunities to take application-oriented professional development courses at the LIT Open Innovation Center. These courses will focus is on honing soft skills at the crossroads of science communication, design thinking, and prototyping.

Our Czech partners are launching an exciting workshop on AI for creative industries on April 1, offering new encounters, insights, and inspiration in the world of artificial intelligence.

The project officially kicked off on November 21, 2024, at the LIT Open Innovation Center with a major launch event featuring keynotes and matchmaking sessions.
