Packed House for the 22nd Kurt W. Rothschild Lecture Series

JKU graduate Gabriel Felbermayr, President of the Kiel Institute for the World Economy (IfW), was the keynote speaker at the Kurt W. Rothschild Lecture Series.

Prof. Felbermayr graduated in economics at the JKU and manages the highly renowned institute in Kiel via stations in Florence, Vienna, Tübingen and Munich. Felbermayr’s presentation about trade wars spanned a wide arc pertaining to developing trade balances between the USA, China and Europe, on power politics between big players on customs measures, and what price the American and European economies are paying.

As part of the lecture series, the Institute of Economics presented publication awards. Jochen Güntner, Matthias Fahn, Nicole Schneeweis, Martin Halla, Dieter Pennerstorfer and Alexander Ahammer were presented awards in recognition of outstanding publications in various journals.
