On Monday, December 16th 2024, our former colleague Massimiliano Leoni was honoured with the Best Paper 2023 award from the Austrian Academy of Sciences, opens an external URL in a new window - Österreichische Akademie der Wissenschaften (ÖAW) for his publication titled “Blood flow but not cannula positioning influences the efficacy of Veno-Venous ECMO therapy, opens an external URL in a new window”, published in Scientific Reports during his time with us.

Massimiliano Leoni is currently working for Proxima Fusion, opens an external URL in a new window, where he develops software and runs simulations to help bring unlimited clean fusion energy to the grid.
