Strategists and students alike have at their disposal a large number of different tools, concepts and models of strategic management. More than a million academic articles and books are available, not counting the wealth of information from consultants and experts. However, the published articles point in very different directions. This diversity of perspectives is a hurdle for many students and practitioners. The question arises: How do you find the right strategies among all the different scientific findings and simplistic recipes for success?

In Strategic Leadership, business students at the JKU Institute for Strategic Management learn how to select appropriate strategic management tools and models based on real-life case studies. This semester, 40 students immersed themselves in the business models of Hartlauer Handelsgesellschaft m.b.H., Honeder Naturbackstube GmbH, Silberholz, Sindbad - Social Business and Posthof.

Many thanks to Norbert and Agnes Silber, Susanne Baumgartner and Tina Tagwerker, Gernot Kremser and Julia Schlögl, MA, for an exciting discussion about their strategic challenges, the suitability of different approaches to strategic management and the further development of their business models.
