Organized by the Linz Tourist Office, the festival reveals what is possible when questions are more important than answers.
Festival co-curator, Patrick Rammerstorfer, remarked: “The festival is a place to explore ideas, discontinuities, open questions and serious utopias. The future is not a threat, but a challenge to define and shape things.” Managing director Marie-Louise Schnurpfeil (Linz Tourist Office) believes the festival “... reflects the values as outlined in our 2030 Destination Strategy - innovation, sustainability and networking in a spirited and dynamic way.”
The future is what we make of it, and curiosity is one of the most important forward-looking abilities we could have. Curiosity is the key when it comes to supporting growth, development, creativity, and progress.
There will be over 120 program points during two-day festival (Friday, May 23, 2025: 2:00 PM - 7:30 PM | Saturday, May 24, 2025: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM), including a JKU workshop on May 23 featuring Prof. Dr. Armando Rastelli (Institute of Semiconductor and Solid State Physics) and his team.
The JKU booth will be all about light and the fascinating world of optics and quantum physics. Using simple experiments, we will demonstrate the nature of light and how it can be manipulated. In keeping with the International Year of Quantum Science, we will also invite visitors to discover quantum phenomena for themselves. Visitors of all ages can conduct their own experiments and explore the exciting world of physics - particularly quantum physics - at the same time. Our stand will spark a sense of curiosity and inspire an interest in science!
