The JKU's Multimedia Law Diploma degree program remains a resounding success.
The enormously successful Multimedia Law Diploma degree program is turning 20! Unique in Austria, the popular program is growing stronger.
By creating separate examination locations, the JKU's Multimedia Law Diploma degree program is now represented in eight other Austrian states. Beginning March 1, 2024, a new examination location will open in Styria, meaning that the Multimedia Law Diploma degree program is open to students in all nine Austrian states and will become an "Austrian University". This is an important step forward, as approximately 700 students enroll in the multimedia law degree program annually.
Students enrolled in the Multimedia Law Diploma degree program can now take written examinations and subject area examinations not only in Linz, but also at external locations in Vienna, St. Pölten, Stadtschlainig (Burgenland), Villach, Bregenz, Wörgl (Tyrol), Zell/See (Salzburg), and Lannach (Styria), free of charge and offered at the same time, and with the same content and grading system.
A Popular Program Throughout Austria
Prof. Dr. Andreas Riedler (head of the Institute for Multimedia Law Studies in Linz and the Academic Director), remarked: "We introduced a completely new mentoring system in 2022 and opened a new examination site in Wörgl in Tyrol during the 2022 Winter Semester; now we are taking the next step forward. I am delighted with the additional examination site in Lannach in Styria, confirming the Multimedia Law Diploma degree’s pioneering role and giving the program a stronger boost. I would like to thank Rector Stefan Koch and Vice-Rector Andreas Janko for their active support throughout the process."
JKU Rector Prof. Dr. Stefan Koch enthusiastically added: "The Multimedia Law Diploma degree program identified the shift toward earning a degree without time and location constraints early on, and Prof. Riedler and his team have consistently pursued this approach for over 20 years. The numbers and their success speak for themselves: a total of almost 4,000 students are enrolled in the program, approximately 700 new students enroll annually, over 13,000 written examinations were given during the past two semesters alone. Beginning March 1, 2024, students will now be able to take written examinations free of charge at on-site locations in all nine Austrian states under university supervision. Congratulations on this impressive accomplishment."
