Additional Information
The Plan for Advancement is outlined by the Austrian University Act as the university's strategic planning instrument and included as part of the university's autonomy. As a medium-term to long-term planning policy, the Plan for Advancement outlines and defines the university's strategies and visions.
Every three years, the university draws up and signs a performance agreement, opens a file with the Austrian federal government to jointly define and outline mutual commitments, responsibilities, and obligations. The agreement regulates which services the university provides on behalf of the Austrian federal government and which services the Austrian federal government provides in return.
The JKU participates actively in selected rankings. Over the past ten years, the subject of rankings has grown increasingly important. Depending on the ranking, these rankings compare universities as a whole or, in some cases, departments and institutes.
