POWERCAST Seeks to Optimize Power Grid Costs and Supply Efficiency

Using AI-assisted forecasting models, the JKU and RISC are working on predicting and improving power loads.

Launched in April 2024, the POWERCAST research project in Hagenberg is focusing on increasing operational efficiency by creating a system to manage extensive and diverse energy data more efficiently. The project involves a consortium of leading experts in the energy industry and in research. Dominik Falkner, technical project manager at consortium leader RISC Software Ltd. in Hagenberg, remarked: “This is how we are contributing to a sustainable use of resources to meet ever-increasing demands.”
