Weather permitting, we can also spend the time outdoors as well.
Microfluidics in Basic Medical Research
Our body contains countless tiny channels through which, for example, our blood flows. But what else do they do? And how can we examine chemical and biological processes? We will work with microfluidic systems that will help us to explore a new wonderful and miniature world.

What Happens During a Stroke?
A stroke is a serious medical emergency that can happen to anyone at any time. This workshop focuses on recognizing stroke symptoms, learning how doctors render a diagnosis at the hospital, how strokes are treated and, above all, what you can do to help until medical help arrives.
How Does my Heart Work? What can I do if it no longer works well?
Do you know just how your heart works? The heart is an amazing organ and you will learn more about how your heart works, and what can be harmful. But don't worry, you'll also learn how you can keep this vital organ healthy and how modern medicine can heal and repair heart damage.
What Goes on at the Pediatrician's Office?
Spend a day as a doctor! You will learn how to examine the abdomen, take blood samples and how examination methods - such as ultrasound and X-rays - work. Dive into the world of medicine and discover what it means to be a doctor!
Kids in Their Element
You are no doubt familiar with the four elements of earth, water, fire, and air. Learn more about how you can use your senses to experience these basic elements and discover what they have to do with you.
Street Dance
Is dance your passion? Or perhaps you would like to just like to give it a go? Participants in the Street Dance workshop can try out different styles of street dance, such as hip-hop, popping, locking, and jazz!
Saving Lives can be Child's Play
What do we do in an emergency situation where someone needs help? Learn how to save lives using simple resuscitation techniques! In a stress-free setting, ERC (European Resuscitation Council) certified instructors will show you how to provide first aid so you can respond correctly if you ever find yourself in this kind of a situation.
Taxes - The State's Revenue
Everyone has to pay taxes, but how does it all actually work? Where did taxes originate, what kinds of taxes are there, and why do we need taxes? Who gets them, do companies also have to pay taxes, and what happens if you don't pay them? As part of a simplified format, you will learn everything you wanted to know about taxes and by the end, you will even understand how taxes help to protect our environment!
Pressing Ahead: Heart, Aorta, Action!
How does the body work? How does blood get to where it needs to go and what’s the heart’s role in all of this? We will work with a self-constructed hydraulic model to better understand how this works and learn what’s behind the terms cardiovascular physiology and pathophysiology, and what goes on inside us.
Drug Effect Mechanisms
How do medicines work? They work because they contain special molecules that are effective inside the human body. This workshop shows you how it all happens - and then you can examine the effects of medicines in a hands-on way!
Liquid Biopsy: Tracking Down Risky Types of Cancer
A cancer diagnosis is far from uncommon and can dramatically impact a person's life. Thankfully, there have been considerable advances in treating cancer. Some types of cancer, however, are more difficult to detect, especially as they show no symptoms. In this case, a liquid biopsy can help! A liquid biopsy is a simple blood test that can detect tiny pieces of DNA (or other substances) that cancer cells release into the bloodstream. This quick and simple method helps doctors to detect and treat many different types of cancer. As part of this workshop, you can become a physician yourself and carry out your own liquid biopsy experiments.
First Aid Made Easy!
Anyone can do First Aid! Learn life-saving First Aid techniques with the Samaritan Association and the Red Cross Linz!
Where tomorrow's physicians come from
Physicians don’t grow on trees, of course – they come from the university. Join Christian to explore the campus and discover the skills needed to complete Austria's first-ever Bachelor-Master degree program in medicine. And, of course, be surprised by the innovative methods used to train the physicians of tomorrow!
Accused - How Juvenile Criminal Law Works
Surely you've seen a movie where someone was on trial. Did you know, that in Austria, you are criminally responsible from the age of 14? But what does that mean? And what is criminal law, anyway? What does it protect, and what are the regulations within criminal law? We will learn about this in an easy-to-understand way by solving a case together! Find out how much you can defend yourself when someone tries to take your phone, whether there are other sentences besides fines and imprisonment, and what special rules apply to young people when they end up in court.
