Radiation. Nuclear Fission. Frequency Leaps.
When it comes to demonstrating notable accomplishments by women in technology and science, three outstanding female pioneers are undisputable role models: Polish-born and two-time Nobel Prize winner, Marie Curie (1867 - 1934), the scientist who discovered radioactivity, Viennese nuclear physicist Lise Meitner (1878 - 1968), and the Vienna-born Hollywood actress Hedy Lamarr (1914 - 2000), who pioneered the frequency hopping process.
portraittheater's production titled “Curie_Meitner_Lamarr_INDIVISIBLE” focuses on these three women and their life stories, as well as their unshakable fascination with science and technology. Under the direction of Sandra Schüddekopf, on stage, actress Anita Zieher takes on all three roles and breathes life into each of these women. Video clips of three girls create a link to present-day life. Co-produced with Theater Drachengasse Vienna, the play has proven immensely successful, having been performed over 100 times in German and English, as well as performed abroad, including in the USA, Australia, Spain, Sweden, and the Ukraine.
