Chien Shuing Wu worked with the likes of Robert Oppenheimer and her “Wu experiment” disproved a fundamental law of physics. The Nobel Prize, however, always went to her male colleagues. At the beginning of the 20th century in China, there were no opportunities for girls to attend school. Her parents established a school specifically to provide their daughter with a basic level of education. At the age of 24, she had to leave her family and her home forever in order to continue her nuclear physics degree in America and pursue nuclear fission. This is the story of a young girl from China who, armed with an iron will and heroic courage, made her dream of becoming a scientist come true.
