Unleashing creativity, designing perspectives.
Workshops and Film Projects
The purpose of education is to teach a person to develop to their full capacity. Wilhelm von Humboldt, a German philosopher and educational reformer, not only believed that schools should support and facilitate the process, but is also the only way for individuals to build character and become independent critical thinkers. Education is more than just acquiring new knowledge; when it comes to personal growth, the education system is often unable to create the desired space to sufficiently meet the demand.
The “Space for Dreams” (="Räume für Träume") workshop opens up more space for dreams, encouraging young people to create new life plans for themselves. As a means of individual expression, art has the potential to inspire personal growth, build a sense of self-identity, and create social bonds between group members, benefitting our target group in particular: young people and young adults struggling to find their place in the world.

Art Opens Spaces Up
Art opens up spaces which can then be used in a variety of ways: for verbal and non-verbal communication; to explore the scope of thought and action; as an opportunity to (re)invent oneself in a wide variety of different ways; as a playground to discover and form perspectives; to discover personal skills and talents, as well as have opportunities to grow; and to experience and practice creating something together.
The workshops are an opportunity to give participants time and space to express their thoughts and feelings. By working as equals within a co-creative process, the teens & young adults will also discover that they themselves contribute significantly to the project's overall success.
Those taking part in the “Spaces to Dream” workshop will improve their own personal capacity to act, becoming more aware about their own potential. Mistakes and errors are regarded as a learning opportunity to do better the next time. Participants are also encouraged to get out of their comfort zone and try new things - all of which are key factors in creating a growth mindset.
