The Faculty of Medicine at the Johannes Kepler University Linz invites applications for a full-time professorship position under private law for a Professor for
Pediatric Cardiology
to begin immediately. The appointment is based on an appointment procedure in accordance with § 98 of the 2002 Universities Act (UG) and offered in the form of an employment contract under private law (full-time). A faculty performance review will be conducted after a 5-year period.
The successful candidate's responsibilities will include representing and further expanding the department in all aspects of education, teaching, research, and patient care. The professorship position is associated with managing the Department of Pediatric Cardiology. This position is currently limited to a 5-year period.
The successful candidate must hold a habilitation/post-doctorate degree in the above-mentioned field, or comparable, internationally recognized advanced academic qualifications. The appointment committee also includes two representatives from the Kepler University Hospital Ltd. in an advisory function. As part of the appointment procedure, the JKU also reserves to right to assess the prospective applicant’s qualifications (particularly in regards to patient care skills) during an on-site visit of the workplace.

The annual minimum salary under the collective agreement for universities is EUR 89,075.00 gross based on full-time employment (salary level A1). As part of the appointment negotiations, the definitive salary will be discussed with the Rector. Detailed negotiations concerning medical care will be conducted in consultation with management at the Kepler University Hospital.
