In accordance with the collective agreement for university employees and the 2002 Austrian Universities Act (UG) regarding a full-time position (40 hours per week) for a limited period of six years, prospective applicants for the tenure-track position at the Department of Ophthalmology and Optometry at the JKU’s Faculty of Medicine must hold a doctorate/Ph.D. The position will involve a combination of research, teaching, and clinical care. Supplementing an already existing research group at the Center for Medical Research, the candidate will be expected to develop an additional research focus in the area of glaucoma research. The applicant's background must include a recognizable scientific focus on the subject of glaucoma. In addition, the successful candidate is expected to demonstrate expertise and experience in the field of glaucoma, or a basic medical subject (such as anatomy, histology, physiology, or pharmacology etc.) related to the subject of glaucoma.
