The Institute of Numerical Mathematics at the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences announces the opening for a Tenure-Track position in Optimization at the Johannes Kepler University Linz. Candidates must hold a Doctorate/PhD degree.
In accordance with the collective agreement for employees and the Austrian Universities Act, the Institute of Numerical Mathematics at the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences announces the opening for a full-time (40 h/week), six-year Tenure-Track position at the Johannes Kepler University Linz. The candidate must hold a Doctorate/PhD.
The position is dedicated to highly qualified junior researchers with a Doctorate/PhD and corresponding expertise in the field of Mathematical Optimization. The position offers the possibility of concluding a qualification agreement that – upon the successful completion of the requirements as outlined in the agreement – may result in a permanent position as Associate Professor (§ 99 Sec. 5 and 6 of the Universities Act).
The successful candidate should have an outstanding academic track record after completing the Doctorate/PhD demonstrating excellence in academic publishing, and possessing expertise teaching university-level courses. In accordance with the collective agreement of 2025, the minimum annual gross salary is EUR 69,060.60. Once the qualification agreement has been signed, the minimum annual gross salary will be EUR 81,314.80.
