Online Information Sessions by the Centre for Distance Studies

Not yet quite sure about which degree program is right for you? Wondering if you can earn a degree and balance work/family life? Would you like to learn more about the programs we offer? Join in on one of our online information sessions and we would be happy to tell you more!

The enrollment deadlines for degree programs offered at the FernUniversität in Hagen are December 1 - January 31 to start your studies in the Summr Semester; and June 1 to July 31 to start your studies in the Winter Semester.
 

If you are interested, we offer online information sessions about distance studies via Zoom. Please note that our information sessions are in German only.

These info sessions provide information about the following questions and more:

  • How does distance learning at the FernUniversität in Hagen work?
  • What kind of Bachelor's and Master's degree programs does the FernUni offer?
  • What does studying part-time or full-time mean, as well as academic study / non-degree seeking programs?
  • How can I study and balance professional and family responsibilities?
  • How can I earn an academic degree without a school-leaving certificate or university entrance qualifications?
  • What kind of costs can I expect when studying at the FernUniversität in Hagen?
  • How do I enroll for a degree program?
  • What kind of support services does my local study centre offer?

Long Night of Academic Advising -
Info Session for Prospective Students

Online information session in partnership with the FernUniversität in Hagen

The Centre for Distance Learning Austria will also be taking part in the Germany-wide "Long Night of Academic Advising" campaign.

Student advisors and representatives from the five Distance Learning Centres from throughout Austria will be available to answer all of your questions about distance learning online via Zoom between 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM! The info session is an opportunity to learn more about the FernUniversität in Hagen's courses and academic degree programs, as well as available regional support and services offered by the Centre for Distance Learning for you as a distance learning student in Austria.


Following the info session (after 6:00 PM), you will have an opportunity to visit the FernUni “on-site” and get subject-specific academic advising by faculty members.

Please sign up in advance to attend the general part by the Centre for Distance Learning Austria (see link below). Thank you! Information about the Hagen faculties' Zoom rooms will be provided during the first part.

FAQs on Video-Conferencing via Zoom

After you sign up to attend, we will e-mail you the link to join the Zoom meeting.

No, you just need a laptop, computer, or a cell phone that has an internet connection. If you are joining the meeting using your smartphone, we recommend downloading the Zoom app that is available in the App store.

You can ask questions during the presentation in the "Chat" area which is located in the lower section of the window. Questions will be answered during the presentation.

You can switch the sound and image on and off at any time. We would, however, be delighted if you could identify yourself using your first and last name.

We recommend joining the meeting right from the start so that you do not miss any important information. You can also join in and/or leave at any time during the presentation.
