Programm
Moving data with silicon lasers
Silicon photonics aim to reduce the global energy consumption and increase data transfer rates in current electronic devices and data centers by using light to move data instead of electrical current. To this end, laser-sources must be directly implemented on this type of a silicon platform.

Wearable Insights
The project explores the potential of wearable technologies designed to enrich psychological research by providing opportunities to collect less reactive “objective” data in real-life settings. Complementing survey data with behavioural or physiological data can enhance what we know about psychological constructs and help test the credibility of questionnaire-based findings.

5G Secure Communications
Machines will make up the majority of wireless communication users in future. To ensure that these devices can operate securely and communicate, we put forth an interdisciplinary approach combining cryptographic methods with physical unique communication and location parameters.
