Univ. Prof. Thomas Gegenhuber und apl.-Prof. Dr. Manuela Schiek
Zwei Themen - 30 Minuten.

Spectroscopic Investigation of Solid-Liquid Interfaces under Operational Conditions
We envision restoration of eyesight by retinal implants for vision impaired people suffering from an incurable degeneration of photoreceptors as the light sensitive part of the retina. The most critical part - not only of retinal implants but implantable medical devices in general - is the interface between the opto-electronic device and the biological tissue. These are solid-liquid interfaces, and to understand their functionality under operational conditions, we have developed a unique spectroscopic tool.
- Univ. Prof. Thomas Gegenhuber (LIT Sustainable Transformation Management Lab)
Organizing in Times of Crisis
In my talk I will reflect on the process how we try to organize help for Ukrainian students. A key message is that we need to do more to improve the interfaces among societal sectors (e.g. public administrations and organizations, civil society and private sector) to effectively help.
