Organized by the Department of Mathematics at the Johannes Kepler University Linz (JKU), the annual joint meeting of the Österreichische Mathematische Gesellschaft (ÖMG), opens an external URL in a new window and the Deutsche Mathematiker-Vereinigung (DMV), opens an external URL in a new window will take place in Linz in 2025. The conference will consist of sections, mini-symposia, and several satellite events.

A Green Event
The meeting will be organized jointly as a Green Event, opens an external URL in a new window, meaning that as part of organizing the event, we will take environmental and sustainability factors into account. We recommend and encourage using climate-friendly transportation and food sources, conserving resources and waste, and we emphasize strong communication and active social participation.

Minisymposia
We solicit submissions of minisymposium proposals. A minisymposium is a collection of four or eight talks on a trending topic in mathematics. Proposals should be sent by email to oemg-dmv-2025(at)jku.at no later than December 31, 2024 and contain the following information:
- A title of the minisymposium.
- Names, affiliations, and email addresses of all organizers.
- A short abstract/motivation (one or two paragraphs).
- A tentative list of speakers.
Key dates:
December 31, 2024: Minisymposium proposal submission deadline.
January 31, 2025: Notification of acceptance.
April 30, 2025: Deadline for titles and abstracts of talks.
Travel & Accommodations
We are pleased to offer two Scholarships to mathematicians working in the Global South to attend the Annual 2025 ÖMG-DMV Meeting. This will be a joint activity of the Austrian Mathematical Society (ÖMG) and the German Mathematical Society (DMV), scheduled to take place between 1 September and 5 September 2025 in Linz, Austria.
Applications are welcome from research-active mathematicians with a solid publication record, employed at an academic institution in a Low Income or Lower Middle Income country, opens an external URL in a new window, for example in Africa, South-East Asia or the Americas. We welcome applicants to explain their motivation to attend the meeting, including specific details about which plenary speaker(s) and/or sections they are particularly interested in.
The scholarships are intended to cover travel to Linz, accommodation and daily allowance for 7 days, and additional expenses such as visa and travel insurance, up to a maximum total amount of 2200 Euros per scholarship. In addition, the conference fee will be waived. Application procedure: please send a detailed motivation letter (maximum 2 pages), a Curriculum Vitae including list of publications, and the names of two references to oemg-dmv-2025(at)jku.at by the deadline February 28, 2025.
