Objectives

Transition from simple written texts to texts with more complex expression. Independent development of topics and longer, more demanding texts.

Course content

• Production of clear and detailed texts on various topics
• Text work - text comparisons - text transformations
• Text type specific writing: Essays, reports, formal/informal emails, blog posts, letters of complaint.
• Rendering content, writing about pros and cons, explaining arguments and counter-arguments for different points of view, giving personal opinions, creative writing
• writing about personal experiences
• Insertion and completion exercises, spelling and grammar exercises, vocabulary development and style

Assessment criteria

Mandatory, regular attendance (at least 80% of weekly classes must be attended), active class participation, mid-term test, final exam.
