Invitation to the pracitice talk with Schachermayer

Alternative solution to private label! Possible strategies in response to falling product margins.

[Translate to Englisch:] Schachermayer

The team at the Institute of Retailing, Sales and Marketing (IHaM) at Johannes Kepler University (JKU) Linz cordially invites you to the first practical dialogue in the winter semester 2024/25. The practical dialogue is intended as a bridge between theory and practice and is aimed at both students and practitioners. Our speakers will provide insights into practice and offer the opportunity for critical discussion.

Schachermayer Großhandels GmbH is a family-run technical wholesaler in the woodworking, metalworking and industrial sectors. The product portfolio comprises around 100,000 stock products from ten different product lines from mainly European brand suppliers. In recent years, product margins in the production connection trade have generally deteriorated steadily. The obvious solution is to create own brands with OEM manufacturers in particularly sensitive areas and use these to supplement the range or replace the established brand manufacturers. However, there must also be other ways and strategies to deal with these market developments. Can a wholesaler generate added value in the supply chain and is it able to compensate for falling product margins? I look forward to an exciting discussion.
